people are getting married and having children later than ever.But if they can afford it,they don't want to stay with their parents.After all,you can't choose your family,but you can choose your friends.So isn't it a good idea to live with them instead?
Not necesarily.
A recent study suggests that more and more young single people are living on their own instead of sharing with their fiends.
If you think about it,it's not surprising.
Rachel,Chandler and their friends may always be there for each other,but in the real world our relationships with our friends can be just as complicated as those with our families.
Friends can be interfering,jealous and competitive.They can make outrageous demands on you and treat you as if they own you.
Sometimes you don't want to see them so you make up excuses,and then feel guilty.And at other times you feel obliged to ramain friends with someone you don't actually like anymore.
Maybe that's why I felt good when I lost my mobile phone recently.All my friend' numbers were stored in it,so I had a good excuse to see only the friends I really wanted to see
I'm not saying I don't need my friends.They have been there to help me when my family wasn't.We have had lots of good times togeter.I would feel lost without them.
But,maybe we should admit that our friendships aren't perfect and learn not to ask too much from them.
We choose our friends because they're good company and they make us laugh
