自己写了2个句子,但都觉得不对.1.the amount of tourists who visted England in 1999 was over double times more than it in 1979.; 2.the amount of tourists who visted England in 1999 was more than double times when it in 1979

In 1999,the number of tourists in UK was more than two times of the figure in 1979.
英国是UK,england是英格兰,所以用england不准确.two times of the figure两倍的数量,‘比...多’,除了可以用more than,也可以用over代替.tourists in UK已经表示在英国旅游的人了,额外加个去英国旅游的who visited,个人觉得比较累赘,加上也没有错.
同时指出2楼的这位高手2个错误：
1.english作为名词没有英国的意思,只有英语语言,和英格兰人的意思（注意,是英格兰人而非英国人）.好比我个人多年在英国的亲身经历.如果你走到苏格兰或者北爱尔兰,你问一个路人说are you english?他们会毫不犹豫的摇头说,I'm irish,或者I'm Scottish.以上三个代表人的单词均为集合名词.
2.was more than doubled在2楼例句里应该改为has more than doubled.首先从多年英语会话直觉来讲就是错的.钻一下中国语法的牛角尖,就可以看出,被动语态和后面的that之间完全没有意义连接.
我猜2楼这位高手一定是马虎的原因.
