This topic is about English learners,one of most significant issue on Second Language Learning.In terms of English learning,linguistic educators always concentrate on English (language) per se,but treat English learners as “ideal” learners and learning machine.However,we,as English learners,are different due to our different education and family background.We are all struggling with English learning and English tests.I define myself as struggler.Three articles are included in your group topic:the role of learning goal/motivation in English learning (Gillette,1994); the metaphor theory to sculpture a REAL English learner,I’m moved and touched; The claim for L2 users (Cook,1999).Cook’s article may be more difficult than the rest.Dig out theory foundation from these three articles.As I have mentioned,you guys have to WORK together to read and discuss these articles,otherwise,it’s too challenging for any of you
