最前面那句虚拟语气中的那个had it not been,这里在语法上有些想不通,具体是什么问题我也说不出,就是感觉不太对,

最前面那句虚拟语气中的那个had it not been,这里在语法上有些想不通,具体是什么问题我也说不出,就是感觉不太对,
这里had it not been 是虚拟语气if it had not been 的倒装形式.
if引导的条件句,当与过去已发生的事实相反,从句（即if it had not been for the devotion and courage shown by Murray),主句（即I should have fallen into the hands of the murderous Ghazis )用过去完成时表示虚拟即所说的 与过去的事实相反.且这里had it not been 是从句省略了if 后的倒装形式.
所以,这句的意思是,“要不是MURRAY所表现出的(对我的）忠诚和勇气,我就已经落入凶恶的杀人犯GHAZIS手上了”
