TOEFL 8月份考试,但是在理解文章内容上还有很大障碍,求指教 本人以为指导单词的意思就能读懂文章,可是发现即使指导每个单词的中文翻译,还是不能清楚地理解全文,请问这是什么问题,求牛人指教!谢谢

Sculptures must,for example,be stable,which requires an understanding of the properties of mass,weight distribution,and stress. Paintings must have rigid stretchers so that the canvas will be taut,and the paint must not crack, deteriorate,or discolor.
