介绍苏州的英文
--Intro to Suzhou:
Suzhou is a famous city of eastern China's Jiangsu Province, lying about one hour north-west of Shanghai.
Dubbed as both "Paradise on Earth" and "Venice of the East".
It is famous for its natural beauty and classic gardens; these are the city's main attraction.
--Gardens:
-The Humble Administrators Garden:
This garden is one of the city's World Heritage sites. It is among China's four greatest classic gardens, and is a wonderful place in which to gain an understanding of Chinese culture.
-Liuyuan Garden:
This garden is honoured as one of the most famous gardens in Suzhou.
-Canglangting Garden:
This garden is one of the oldest in China's history. The layout is more natural and less architectural. Many tourists feel the highlight of the garden are the lattice windows and doors.
--Transportation:
By air: The only airport in Suzhou, Guangfu Airport, has closed. Thus, you have to take a plane to Shanghai first; to either Shanghai Hongqiao Airport or Pudong Airport. From there you can find a bus directly to Suzhou.
A Beijing-Shanghai plane ticket will cost 70 US dollars, one-way, taking 2 hours
Coach: From Shanghai to Suzhou coaches run from 10:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m. plus special ones 17:30 and 19:00 p.m., costing 6 US dollars per person, taking 1 hour 40 minutes.
--Travelling Route:
Local buses in Suzhou can take you to all the best scenic spots. There are also tourist buses servicing most destinations. But in Suzhou, the most interesting way to get around is by hiring a manpowered tricycle. Most tricycle riders are local folk who can act as your tour guide when ferrying you around the city. Remember to bring an interpreter with you. The dialect there is hard to understand!
--Best season: Spring is definitely the most beautiful time to visit.
--What else to see:
A well as an old tool for getting water out of the ground, it reflects the traditional way of living in Suzhou. There are many wells, or varying shapes, in residential areas that are very interesting to check out.
--Local Food:
Suzhou cuisine is famous for its style of simmering, braising and stewing. Famous spring dishes include turtle stewed in clear soup, cherry-flavoured pork; summer dishes include chicken steamed in a water-melon, steamed hilsa herring; autumn dishes include sweet-and-sour mandarin fish braised in the shape of a squirrel; winter dishes include spicy marinated meat and black carp braised in fermented rice.
--Recommended restaurant: Deyuelou Restaurant is one of the city's most well-known restaurants, its situated in the Suzhou School of Chinese Cuisine. This restaurant specializes in traditional Suzhou cuisine, and its menu features more than three hundred dishes---all year round.
--Local Handicrafts:
The embroidery from Suzhou is among China's best, especially two-sided pieces.
Embroidery shops line the streets around the various gardens. Prices start from 10 to 60 US dollars.
