Dear Sir or Madam:
I am greatly grateful that you can spare your time to read my self-recommendation. My name is Mao Feng and major in English. I am searching for an opportunity to be a sports journalist at your institution.
Maybe you will be full of curiosity about why an English major graduated want to become a sports journalist. Why? From 2000 to 2008, it’s the most important period in my life. During this period, I have witness so many unforgettable moments. At the day July 13, 2001, China won the competition and become the host country in 2008 Olympic game. When Samaranch announce the words “Beijing”, I was full of proud of my country. In 2004, Chinese athletes won 32 golden medals in Athens; it was the first time for China to be NO.2 in the Olympic gold medalist. What’s more, Liu Xiang became a new star on the track and field stage. In 2008, China ranked 1st in the medalist. Every time I think about those great things, I feel proud of my country. I want to witness those great events; I want to see my national flag rising in the competition terrain, so I want to be a sports journalist.
Three-year’ hard working enables me to acquire a lot of knowledge, not only my major subject, but also something in relation to my dream--- to be a sports journalist. Now I have mastered the basic skills, such as how to interviewer a person, how to writing news articles, how to shoot a good picture, etc. I was a journalist in my school, work for the school newspaper, so I am an experienced person.
To be a sports journalist is my dream, and English pave the way for conquer the language difficult which would occur in future work. I know my major maybe hinder me to become a sports journalist, but my self-confidence and enthusiasm will never die. I am ready to become a member of your institution, please trust me and my ability.
