*ago 指以现在为起点,往前（以前）推：
2 hours ago 两小时以前（从现在开始算）
*before从过去某一时间点为起点,往前（以前）推：
They told me that he had left 2 hours before ：他们离开是在告诉我时（过去）以前两小时.（从They told me 开始算）
所以,ago通常用在过去式（现在的过去）,before通常用在过去完成式（过去的过去）.
