1949年的中国平均年龄才只有三十多岁，而在2009年却超过了70岁。虽然以前有战争的原因，但是其中也有一个因素起着至关重要的作用，那就是医疗技术的进步。
从人类发展的历史进程看,由于医疗技术的发展,人类得以更好地认识机体及其健康状况,例如,显微镜的发明使人类对于微小的物质如细胞有了全面的认识；青霉素的发现与应用挽救了无数的生命；医学设备的应用使得医生能够准备诊断出病人的疾病；疫苗的发明使得人类得以更好地预防疾病。医疗技术的进步确实使威胁人类健康的疾病得到及时预防、诊断与治疗,使人类生命的质量得到提高,人类生命的周期得以延长。
让我们来做一个大胆的设想，随着医疗技术更好的发展，或许再过几十年，人类活到两百岁甚至五百岁将不仅仅是一个梦。人类可以利用克隆技术克隆出需要的器官，发明出万能药物来治愈癌症等致死的疾病，利用基因技术来诊断并治疗目前棘手的疾病。也许，人类真的能够长生不老，除非，2012世界末日真的发生。
事实上，目前的医疗水平远没有想象的先进，还有很多无法治愈的疾病在威胁我们的生命。因此，我们还有很多事情要做，还有很长一段路要走。

From the historical process of human development,with the development of medical technology,we can better understand the human body and its possible health conditions,such as the invention of the microscope ,which contributed a comprehensive understanding of microscopic substances ,such as human cells; th discovery and application of penicillin saved countless lives; th applicationof medical equipment allows physicians to diagnose the patient's disease; th invention of vaccine enables humans to better prevent disease.Progress in medical technology has indeed made the threat to human health,such as diseases,timely prevented,diagnosed and treated,and the quality of human life improved as well as human life cycle extended.
Let's do a bold vision,along with the development of better medical technology,perhaps a few more years later,it will not be merely a dream for human to live to two hundred years or even five hundred years .Human cloning technology can be used to clone the organs needed to invent a universal medicine to cure cancer and other fatal diseases; we can also use gene technology to diagnose and treat currently intractable diseases.Perhaps mankind can really live forever,unless,2012 end of the world really happened.
    In fact,the current medical standards are far advanced to imagine,there are many incurable diseases threatening our lives.Therefore,we still have a lot of things to do,there is still a long way to go.
