Today ,the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold .

今天,流行的生活消费品的高销售量体现了广告的力量而不是商品销售地的社会需求.
在何种程度上你同意或不同意这个观点?
这是个雅思Task 2的作文么?
如果是的话,你可以先看看你自己支持那个观点.然后写一个提纲,给出两个比较有力的可以支持你观点的论点,每一个论点都要有一到两个supporting sentences.
然后提出一个反方的观点,给一句话的论证,一句话的反驳.
这样文章大概的结构就有了.如果我不同意这个观点的话,大概就可以写这样的结构.
Para.1 Introduction:
Sentence 1:Re-paraphrase the question as much as possible.
Sentence 2:Thesis - Although some may argue that advertisements are manipulating people,I do not share this view.
Para.2 Argument 1
Sentence 1:Argument 1 - It is probably true that what the society needs is what most people living in the society need.This is a matter of personal feeling.
Supporting Sentences:
Para.3 Argument 2
Sentence 1:Argument 2 - The targeting customers of consumer goods are mostly likely than not the people who are financially independent and mature enough not to be easily controlled by the advertisements.
Supporting Sentences:
Para.4 Counter-argument
Sentence 1:the opposing argument:People sometimes can be misleading by the exaggerating compliments of goods in commercials.
Sentence 2:Rebut the opposing argument
Para.5 Conclusion.
Restate your main arguments and your thesis.
就是大概这个结构,我没有太仔细想,你应该会有更好的arguments.
还有两点要注意的是,这是个Discussion Question.你第一要做到把自己的论点阐述清楚,安全点的话都会把论点在introduction 里提出来,同意或不同意.无论什么样类型的文章都一定要有论点,不能看到discussion 就两面都同意.第二就是要正反两方都提到,但要突出你的重点.
就这样.如果不是雅思作文的话可能不用考虑这么多.
