关于定语从句的
This is the house which/that I have lived in for five years.
This is the place that/where I live.
第一个句子是作介宾,因为主句里有表示时间地点原因的先行词故不可使用关系副词,而用that/which.
下面的这个句子主语不一样有表示地点的place吗?为什么可以用that也可以用where?
还是说我搞错了主句?
怎么区分一个句子里,哪个是主句哪个是从句呢?

第二个句子不能用that.
如何分辨一个句中谁是主句谁是从句：一个句中的主句前的主语没有连词（并列连词and,or.but除外）,而从句中的主语前一定有（除and,or.but以外）连词.and,or.but连接的两个句子是并列句,或同是主句,或同是从句.
连接从句的连词有：
名词从句的连接词（或是引导词）：that 、whether、疑问词what where等.
定语从句（形容词从句）连接词：关系代词有which,who,whom,that,whose; 关系副词有where,when,why等.
状语从句（副词从句）,由副词连词（连接副词）引导的从句.when,where,why,how,how many,how long,how far,however,whenever,as soon as 、if,once等
另外说说：and,or.but连接的两个句是并列句,或同是主句,或同是从句.
例一：I am a student and he is a teacher.这句中的I am a student和he is a teache都是主句.因为 I 前没有连词,而and是并列连词,表示其前后连接的成份是相同的,所以he is a teacher也是主句.
例二：We want to Shanghai once I finish my work and he finishes his classes.这句中的I finish my work和he finishes his
classes都是从句,因为这两句有一个共同的副词连词once.整个这句话主句是We want to Shanghai.
再问：请问为什么第二个句子不能用THAT？
再答：对不起，第二个句子能用that.
在定语从句中，可用that取代when,why,where,how等关系副词。
词典中有这样的句子：This is the place (that=where=at which) he works。
另外：how一些人认为它不是关系副词，但我认为它是关系副词，用来引导the way为先行词的定语从句，只不过是人们将其省略罢了，或用in which取代。
