One long-distance flight consumes fuel which a car uses in several years’ time,but they cause the same amount of pollution.So some people think that we should discourage non-essential flights,such as tourist travel,rather than to limit the use of cars.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with the view?
In contemporary society,the pollution caused by vehicles is the one of the most significant reasons for environmental problem.And the air plane produces much more pollution than the car.According to this,some people argue that we should limit the use of non-essential flight instead of discouraging using cars.Personally,I think this view is over simplistic.
On the one hand,there are numerous benefits of travelling by air for a long journey,so air travel should not be limited.To begin with,air travelling can save much more time than travelling by car.It is obvious that the speed of air planes is times higher than that of cars.In addition,to get the same destination,the distance that covered by air is shorter than that covered by car.Moreover,due to the air plane contain more space,an air plane can carry more passengers than a car.Therefore,travelling by air is more efficient than that by car,especially there are large number of tourists.Finally,it is convenient to choose flight for long-distance travel.If you choose to travel by car,you should spend more time on the highway.And you have to even stay at hotels for some days,since it takes a long time for travelling by car.It is always horrible for a tourist to spend too much time on the way to the destination.For instance,you cannot see the transportation for a long journey offered by a travel agency is car.
One the other hand,Owing to a long-distance flight consumer fuel which a cars uses in several years’ time,the opponents of not limiting air travel point out that we should discourage non-essential flight.It is true that the air plane produce so much pollution,however according to the number of passengers that the plane carries and the advantage on time- saving of travelling by plane,the long-distance air travel seems to be more efficient actually.
In summary,in spite of the pollution problems,the flight is also the first choice for a long-distance journey.In my opinion,the air travel should not be limited.We should produce more environment-friendly plane in future to solve the pollution problem that the air travel faces.
