changes in industrial production, transportation and agriculture greatly affected the lives of the citizens. the population of europe experienced a rapid growth. the number and size of cities located near the factories, mines and ports grew. this became the factor for rapid population growth in the cities due to the migration of people from rural areas
exploitation of workere who were usually women and children, started in factories from dawn until dusk, they would work in the factories for very low wages. this became the factory for widening the gap between the rich and poor, Nevertheless the government implemented policies which helped in improving environmental conditions- improved highways, water and sewarage system
meanwhile two social classes emerged out of the industrial revolution- the working class which became known as proletariat and the middle class which became known as burgeoise the latter was composed of businessmen, factory owners, bankers and lawyers
